The current R370 grant is a useful social welfare machanism. However, I think it would be effective if it was converted into a job search grant which is loaded into a redeemable card/coupon. Such a card could be loaded a few basic wallet items. At least 10 return bus tickets for seekers to do job hunting, printing and photocopy money for copies curriculum vitae, money for a specified number of meals for the days the job seeker will be running job hunting errands and money for airtime and data
